Every Blues Song You’ve Ever Heard
July 05, 2009
Laura took off a couple of days ago.
I dropped her off at the airport on a stormy morning, the sky brooding and dark. Her bag was as big as she was, her eyes sleepless, her head full of ideas, adventures.
She’ll be in Southeast Asia for two months; then North Bay for a year; then back across oceans. I’ll be right here with the dog.
But damn it, I miss her and the dog misses her too.
When you live with a girl for so long you forget how every day is filled with her presence, how her words rub against yours seamlessly. Now there’s just emptiness and no one to talk to about dinner, or dog poo, or the hair in the sink, or the other million meaningless things that matter terribly.
For now the dog and I are catching glimpses of her adventures from afar. She’s on teh internets. Look!
Posted by Tudor at 11:05 PM in Friends & Lovers | TrackBackDog poo is never fun to talk about, and neither is hair in the sink or silly stuff like that. When I get back I’ll have much more interesting things to talk about, and then maybe you’ll want to join me on these adventures!
Ryder misses me too? Seriously?
I miss you too, you know. :)
Posted by: Laura on July 06, 2009 at 12:22 AMDoes Laura plan to do her placements in North Bay? It shouldn’t be quite as difficult to bear if she does her placements close to home.
I had a few classes with some of the faculty from the B.Ed. department. Warnie Richardson is very enthusiastic.
Laura should like Nipissing, if only because there are beds in the washrooms in the A wing, or at least there used to be when I went there. And North Bay can be great. After all, it does have a strip club called “Fanny’s.”
She’s coming back home which is pretty awesome. And i think she’ll have lots of fun there too. The whole place seemed pretty laid back,
I’ll give her a heads up on Fanny’s… hahaha!
