May Prizes…Whee!

May started off with a bang — not only did I get to meet the lovely people of the Guelph Flickr group at the Red Brick cafe, but I also won the first prize in group’s inaugural photo contest. For one night I got to feel like a star: people fed me grapes, gave me medals, and shoved gift certificates in my pockets.
I kinda forgot I had the gift certificates until last week, when I decided to go on a shopping splurge for camera equipment. Now I’m freshly armed with a monopod and yet another camera IR remote control. As far as you’re concerned, this means less motion blur and more ass in my photos. If that won’t make you happy, nothing will.
