How To Make Coffee

September 02, 2006

Wake up early on a bright August morning, limbs wrapped around your lover’s naked body. The bed will smell like warmth and memories, her skin will taste like kisses, and eventually even the tips of your fingers will burn with wanting her.

But instead of waking her up, rub your eyes and walk into the kitchen with your hardon. Mornings are always overwhelming, always a mixture of wanting and dreaming. And right now what you want is some coffee.

To make coffee, first grind some beans. Dump the grinds in the French press, and turn the electric kettle on. Wait a while, then dump boiling water on top of the grinds. In a few minutes, you can push down on the French press, and pour two cups of something that tastes like bile and bitterness.

Take your coffee to bed, and gently wake up your lover, just so you can fall asleep again after coffee, and talk, and wrestling on the mattress.
