New Bike Day
December 01, 2005
I’ve got a bike,
You can ride it if you like
It’s got a basket, a bell that rings
And things to make it look good
It was raining like hell that night when we decided to get me a bike. In pitch darkness we rode all the way home like wet, mad creatures. The winter rain slipped through our layers of clothes, slowly, until our spines became wet and electric. And I was singing.
We got home after midnight, exhausted (and me with my new bike made of strange metals), and we threw our wet clothes into a pile, happy to be alive and naked once more.

I’ll give you anything, everything if you want things.
I know you’d give it to me if you could,
..but you borrowed it. :)

Posted by: Tudor on December 02, 2005 at 07:21 PMThat depends on whether you’re pronouncing it the British or U.S. way… Poetaytoes or Poetahtoes, Toemaytoes or Toemahtoes… Or even, Pohtaytoes or Pohtahtoes. I prefer Poh-tay-toes, myself.

Posted by: deandean on December 03, 2005 at 11:06 PMIt’s a Raleigh Tomahawk bike — and so far it’s pretty good at transporting me across the city through several feet of snow.
Floppy peddals are sucky. Sorry about your luck Dean!
