The hydrangea she brought now stands on my desk, lovely and withering. I think I just found my new favourite plant. We stopped to sniff it for a while and then we jumped in bed, her clothes still on for a brief moment of tenderness. We laughed, and teased, and I nearly fell asleep in her arms. “You’ve got to blog now,” she said, and gave me a firm push out of bed with love in her eyes.
