If I could give you a useful tip in the middle of the night, it would be this — don’t fuck with engineers, they’re assholes. A buddy of mine told me this story …
A while ago the dean of engineering at a random university in Waterloo was a big guy named Jim. Jim wasn’t easy to deal with; after all, he too was an engineer. Unfortunately, after a lot of persistent bullying, Jim managed to piss off some important people … his students. Students are vicious creatures, especially engineering students at random universities in Waterloo. So they decided to exact justice on Jim.
About 20 of them showed up in the middle of the night with bricks and mortar. After a lot of deliberation, they decided to erect a giant brick barricade in front of Jim’s office. They even took pictures once their work was done. And of course, to show that they aren’t entirely assholes, they spray painted a friendly message on the wall they just created.
Jim wasn’t amused.

Posted by: spindriftdancer on August 06, 2005 at 11:46 PMThere’s a difference between Dean of Eng. and the chair of a department. The last three Deans of Eng. have been Adel Sedra, S. Chardree and Bill Lennox (from memory). Jim is/was probably chair of the electrical department.
And you’re right.. engineers are assholes. That’s why I got out and found something artsie to make me a better person/non-asshole.
