Stolen Ride
March 22, 2005
Some motherfucker stole my bicycle in the middle of the night. Now I feel sentimental and foolish. I need my crappy, rusty, Canadian Tire bike back! The Purple Monster made me feel alive — it took me all around the province in the heat of the summer, and even after it broke down in the middle of winter, it still carried me to school each morning.
Last night Laura gave me an orgasm and a ride home, so I left my bike at school. And this afternoon, after a long walk in the park with Bernard, I only found a large void where my bike used to be. I didn’t know how to react. I took a piss, I ate a sandwich and filed a police report. Now I need to find a new way to transport my ass to school.

But despite losing my bike, Karma was on my side today. Jason Shim gave me a sexy trench coat that was once Opal’s. Opal cleaned her closet last week, and through Freecycle her coat eventually found me. Freecycle is a brilliant concept — if it could help me find a rusty bike, I’d be all set …

Posted by: Infernus on March 22, 2005 at 08:31 PMI’m sorry Tudor. That sucks. I feel your pain - someone stole my tent when I was moving into my house in September, and although I probably wasn’t as attached to the tent as you were to your bike, I always felt sad when I wanted to go camping and realized I didn’t have a tent anymore. Balls to theives.

Okay, that’s it. The world officially sucks. What kind of jerk does that?
*fume*
I’m glad you like the trenchcoat. I see he didn’t surrender the Super Magic Coat, though :)
*gasp* NO! that’s…that’s just…no! people suck! i’m sorry! you should make “have you seen this bike” posters. i’ll keep my eye out and see if it turns up in nova scotia. many hugs and cuddles to you in your time of need.
Posted by: stacey on March 22, 2005 at 10:33 PMthat’s horrible…i feel your pain; the trauma of losing your transportation - but hey, check your local pawn shop(s) - you never know what you might find.
Posted by: karen on March 22, 2005 at 10:40 PMand if you don’t have any luck, i know a pawn shop where you can buy bikes cheap ;)
i’m really sorry to hear that man, it sucks - people can be jerks
Posted by: karen on March 22, 2005 at 10:43 PMI like, I like. Blogmarked.
Posted by: Dee on March 23, 2005 at 12:56 AMGah! some people really do suck.
on a positive note, you should really put an ad in Freecycle. I bet someone will give you one! Or apparently there’s a week in Waterloo where everyone dumps unwanted stuff to throw out, like end of the year university stuff, so maybe you’ll get a bike that way!
Good luck my friend!
Posted by: Keren on March 23, 2005 at 01:42 AMHey. the trenchcoat looks great on you. Better on you than me anyway. :D
Posted by: Jason on March 23, 2005 at 08:53 AMThank you for your outrage — it’s quite moving. But only some people suck (specifically, those who stole my bike).
As an update, last night I found a pile of rust in my garage that I think I could second as a Frankenstein bike. Pictures coming soon …
Posted by: Tudor on March 23, 2005 at 11:11 AMDude- You are fucking hilarious! I will make your blog my new addiction. One more thing…start a fund for a new purple monster! I would totally hook you up with some funds.
