Election Trivia

January 21, 2005

Here are today’s random election facts:

  • Candidates are not allowed to use blogs to disseminate their views because “discussions [on a blog] are constantly changing,” according to Mr. Simpson, the Chief Returning Officer.
  • ClubLaurier is hosting the online election forums this year, even though hell hasn’t yet frozen over.
  • Some people don’t like the strict election rules enforced by Mr. Simpson. Others don’t like the school.
  • Borrelli, who graduated last year, is still bitter and immensely funny. “If you win, always remember that you’re just a duly elected director of a second-rate student union in one of the most depressing cities in southern Ontario,” he writes.
  • All three presidential candidates were once dons.
  • If all referenda questions pass, some Laurier students will have their fees increased by $203 next year.

It’s a good thing I don’t go to Laurier anymore. With my personality, I’d be tempted to spout off, just to see if Simpson tries to go after me for money.

Corwin,

It would be even funnier if he came after you for money now, seeing as you are in a different nation…
